Scholarships

EWI of San Antonio offers two scholarship programs to help qualified applicants to achieve their academic goals:
  1. Executive Women International Scholarship Program (EWISP)
  2. Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST)
EWISP
  • Open to high school seniors (male or female) who are pursuing a four-year degree in any business or professional field of study.
  • Applicants are nominated by a High School Counselor.
  • Submission deadline will be announced in 2014, usually in March.
  • Applications are judged by a selection committee representing the educational, business and civic sectors, with the majority being non-EWI affiliated.
  • Finalist are required to interview with the judges.
  • Judges select winning students based on their scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, career goals, community service/extra-curricular activities, and written communication skills. 
  • Three Chapter-level scholarships were awarded in 2013, and paid directly to the recipient's college or university:
    • 1st place  - $3,500
    • 2nd place - $2,500
    • 3rd place - $2,000
  • The first place winner is submitted to the Corporate level for an opportunity to win one of six scholarships, ranging between $2,000 and $10,000.
  • The Chapter scholarships are awarded during a Scholarship Banquet in the month of May.

  • Open to adult students (men or women), age 18 or over, who wish to continue their education,  achieve self-esteem, and improve their personal life, employment, family and community. 
  • The San Antonio Chapter partners with various education providers and social service agencies to identify potential ASIST candidates.  Applicants may be single parents, individuals just entering the workforce, or displaced workers.
  • Submission Deadline was March 14th, 2013. 
  • Applications are judged by a selection committee representing the educational, business and civic sectors, with the majority being non-EWI affiliated.
  • Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to, the following:  1) financial need, 2) socially, physically and economically challenged adults, 3) displaced household with small children.
  • Three $2,500.00 scholarships will be awarded in 2013, to be paid directly to the respective college or university.
  • Awards are provided for the recipient's education and related expenses that would aid them in obtaining the necessary educational skills to help achieve career goals and objectives.  Related expenses include tuition,  books, mandatory fees from schools, lab fees, and child care.  (Not included are such things as rent, utility payments, travel expense, or repayment of student loans.)
  • Chapter-level winners are submitted to the Corporate level for the opportunity to be selected for one of twelve $2,500 scholarships.
  • The Chapter scholarships are awarded during a Scholarship Banquet in the month of May.
